Hello Nurse!
An understaffed clinic in Prague is “enhancing” its benefits package to attract “staff.” Nurses who sign a three-year contract get free breast implants!
And here I thought hospitals were supposed to lower your blood pressure.
Jirina Siklova, a gender studies expert and sociologist, accuses the clinic of turning the nurses into “prostitutes” and says “If any institution offers this incentive, then it has lost all credibility.”
But Managing Director Jiri Schweitzer defends the practice, “It helps to improve the morale of both our employees and our patients.”
Petra Kalivodova, one of ten nurses who took the clinic up on the offer, agrees “We were always taught that if a nurse is nice, intelligent, loves her work and looks attractive, then patients will recover faster.”
Now that’s what I call bedside manner!
