It’s been a long time coming, anime has been influencing comics and cartoons for decades. And now Marvel is taking the plunge with 4 new anime style series: Iron Man, Wolverine, X-Men, & Blade.

Marvel unveiled the first trailers for Wolverine & Iron Man series at Comic-Con this weekend (video below), but don’t plan on seeing them anytime soon. Not only won’t they be coming out until next year, they’ll be airing in Japan! Talk about a tease.

Marvel might as well put out an ad recruiting fansubbers.

Not all comic book fans will be thrilled with Wolverine’s Bishounen (pretty boy) treatment, myself included. But look on the bright side equally pretty girls! However it will be more faithful to the character in one regard: A-C-T-U-A-L violence! Think about it, how many times did Wolverine actually stab anyone with his claws in the X-Men, X-Men: Evolution, or Wolverine & the X-Men cartoons? Never. He’d never make skin contact, at most he would claw the armor off Juggernaut. In cartoons Wolverine might as well be a giant can opener, but in anime Wolverine can do what he does best!

And Tony can do what he does best too… right after a quick drink.
