Miss Plastic Hungary

As if beauty pageants didn’t look enough like a collection of Barbie dolls, now there’s one that requires contestants to have had plastic surgery. The winner even gets their very own dream house – an apartment in Budapest!

Miss Plastic Hungary was designed to bust misconceptions that cosmetic corrections are all about oversized breasts, bulbous lips and skin stretched to near tearing point. The participants were judged on the naturalness (read: lack of scar tissue).

Although the focus was primarily on looks, even something as mundane as walking could be considered a talent. Alexandra Horvath ended up with 3rd place after her breast implants caused her to do a faceplant. “She had not got used to the extra weight on top and her new hair extensions got in her eyes – she just lost her balance and tore a ligament in her foot badly,” said a friend.
