Last year DC Comics underwent a reboot that broke up Lois Lane and Clark Kent before they ever got together. Now Superman and Wonder Woman are teaming up in Justice League #12. The issue features DC’s new power couple locking lips on the cover and quickly sold out but everyone is happy about this retcon. In Justice League International Annual #1 a future version of Booster Gold travels back in time to stop the union but he’s too late and both of them fade away like Marty McFly in Back to the Future. Of course, Booster isn’t related to Superman or Wonder Woman (unless DC decided to retcon that too). He just presumably never travels back in time to become Booster Gold and lead the Justice League International. In fact, the series has been cancelled.

Future Retcon

“This has been in the works for some time and we certainly wouldn’t have pulled the trigger on without there being great creative benefit to the liaison,” says DC Comics co-publisher Jim Lee. “Beyond the joy and sorrows of new love, there are potentially huge ramifications and dramatic ways this single relationship between these iconic characters will change the entire political and interpersonal landscape of the DC Universe.”
