Sam Raimi’s cult classic, The Evil Dead, is going back to its roots. Director Fede Alvarez, who was hand-picked by Raimi to do the remake, says he’s cutting out the comedy in order to recreate the film that traumatized him as 12-year-old boy.
“I remember it was the same feeling of the first time I discovered porn,” Alvarez told Spinoff Online. “Like, I’m not supposed to do this but I’m gonna do it anyway. And I remember, it was a very, very, very bad call.”
You’ll feel the same way after watching the new redband trailer but you’ll do it anyway just like the kids in the movie who ignore the warning about the Necronomicon (book of the dead).
The trailer has a full-minute of added footage most of which involves exchange of bodily fluids between the film’s possessed protagonist Mia (Jane Levy) and her friends Olivia (Jessica Lucas) and Natalie (Elizabeth Blackmore). Mia expels pink puke on Olivia and gives Natalie a bloody kiss but the money shot is the infamous tree rape scene, which now includes a tongue tentacle!
Watch it with the lights (and your pants) on.
