It’s disheartening to think that a whole generation of kids will grow up believing Robocop’s archenemy is a Japanese lawnmower rather than the Detroit-built chrome beast we fell in love with all those years ago.
Fortunately, NECA toys is catering older kids and releasing an ED-209 Action Figure based on the original Robocop movie. This 10 inch toy is built to scale with the 7 inch Robocop Spring-Loaded Holster Action Figure and RoboCop Battle Damaged Action Figure. ED-209 isn’t totally movie-accurate though. Unlike the big version, you can play with it on the stairs. The head, legs and chicken wings all have articulation plus the right arm has pop-out rocket launcher! It also features sound effects like hydraulics, grunts and, of course, the iconic line: “Warning. Throw down your weapon. You have 15 seconds to comply.”
The figure is scheduled for October but order now before they’re sold out as this is a limited edition one-time run.
