The Walking Dead Spin-off so Bad its Good (Negan Henry Rollins)
The zombie epidemic is spreading! AMC has announced an untitled The Walking Dead spin-off series for 2015.

“It’s a big world and we can’t wait to give fans another unforgettable view of the zombie apocalypse,” said AMC president Charlie Collier.

Creator Robert Kirkman added, “After 10 years of writing the comic book series and being so close to the debut of our fourth, and in my opinion, best season of the TV series, I couldn’t be more thrilled about getting the chance to create a new corner of The Walking Dead universe. The opportunity to make a show that isn’t tethered by the events of the comic book, and is truly a blank page, has set my creativity racing.”

Could the spin-off be a prequel of comic book’s latest bad guy: Negan, a foulmouthed biker who leads a gang known as the Saviors. They control multiple groups of survivors including Rick’s group, which is the last to fall in line but the first to fight back. Seeing his rise to power would make for compelling television. Imagine rooting for the zombies each week!

AMC won’t have to look far for an actor who can play Negan. Artist Charlie Adlard revealed at San Diego Comic Con 2012 that character is based on real-life badass Henry Rollins, who knows something about fighting cannibals (see: Wrong Turn 2: Dead End).

Does a bad spin-off sound like a good idea?
