Tonight Show host Jay Leno received a big send off from his first and final guest Billy Crystal, who led a parody of “So Long, Farewell” from The Sound of Music. Crystal was accompanied by guest appearances from Jim Parsons, Oprah Winfrey, Carol Burnett, Sheryl Crow, Kim Kardashian, Chris Paul and Jack Black with the best line of all.
“So long, farewell. Auf wiedersehen, my dear. If Fallon tanks, you’ll be back here next year,” Black sang referencing Conan O’Brien’s short-lived show.
Jimmy Fallon similarly rolled out the celebrities for his opening show but they weren’t as happy to see him. They each had to pay up a hundred dollars after losing a bet that Fallon would never host The Tonight Show. Angriest of all was Fallon’s new rival Stephen Colbert, who paid in pennies.
