The potty is over for a toilet themed restaurant in Los Angeles. The Magic Restaurant Cafe featured toilet seating and bathroom tile walls. Even the food was served in toilet shaped dishes with names like “black poop,” “smells like poop,” “bloody number two” and “stinky tofu.”
The restaurant closed its door over Memorial Day weekend with no explanation. Perhaps the workers were pooped or maybe customers didn’t care for the crappy food. Reviews of the restaurant on Yelp gave it 2 1/2 stars out of 5.
Americans may have pooh-poohed the idea but the Taiwanese think it’s the shit. The original idea was launched in 2006 at the Modern Toilet restaurant.
Fortunately, you don’t have to travel to Taiwan to have a warm meal on the toilet. Just pick yourself up a toilet mug and some toilet candy for dessert.
