Last Halloween LAIKA, the animation studio behind Coraline, introduced us to their newest creepy kid ParaNorman with a spine tingling trailer set to the psychedelic song “Season of the Witch” by Donovan.

In the new family friendly, but less groovy, trailer we learn more about Norman’s paranormal ability to see dead people including his Grandmother and other not-so-friendly ghosts.

In a very special holiday episode of Community, the gang gets into the Christmas spirit whether they like it or not. The Glee teacher recruits Jeff and his friends after an anonymous tip about copyright infringement shuts the glee club down. One by one they are seduced by song into joining, and I do mean seduced. Annie gives Jeff a lap dance while parodying Madonna’s cutesy version of “Santa Baby” which climaxes with the line “Boop-dee boop-dee doop, boop… sex.” Jeff tells her “eventually you hit a point of diminishing returns on the sexiness,” but that doesn’t stop him from signing up to see more.

Unfortunately, he doesn’t get an encore performance because the show’s a bust when it’s revealed that the instructor murdered the previous glee club. But you can see Alison Brie singing the real version without all the cutey wootsy crap in her very sexy audition for Christmas Idol (video bottom).

Kids are listening to more music than ever, an average of 2.5 hours a day, and researchers at Brigham Young University think it’s corrupting their young impressionable minds with sexually explicit lyrics.

BYU published the study in the journal Sexuality & Culture, which looked at Billboard Hot 100 year-end songs from 1959, 1969, 1979, 1989, 1999, & 2009. It found that lyrics have become significantly more likely to contain sexualization, particularly among male and non-white artists.

“We’re concerned that we are creating a cultural norm and that norm is really leading young men to view women and their bodies as objects, almost in a dehumanizing fashion,” said Cougar Hall, a school health educator at the university, which is owned and operated by The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints (LDS). “We’re teaching young girls that their value to the world is not between their ears but in their breasts and butts.”

Since we’re probably not about to see an influx of hip hop artists rapping about respecting women anytime soon, the study suggests sexuality educators should be cognizant of the trend and its impact on adolescent sexual behavior and attitudes. Teens exposed to high levels of sexual media were twice as like to be sexual activity, according to another study at University of North Carolina.

Aimi Eguchi seemed to come out of nowhere. The 16-year-old went from “trainee” in the Japanese idol group AKB48 to spokesmodel for Glico candy.

Too good to be true.

Aimi is actually a computer-generated composite of 6 of the group’s most attractive members. Glico released a video showing the face tracking software used to create Aimi, along with an online idol maker but the results are on par with that of a face flip book from your childhood, more kawai than kawaii.

You probably know Jon Fratelli, whether you realize it or not, from his work with The Fratellis. The band literally had commercial success with hits like “Chelsea Dagger” and “Flathead” which were featured in Safeway & iPod ads, respectively. Roger Daltrey praised, “They remind me of The Who when we were starting out in the ’60s. The same vibe, and great songs.”

Like Daltrey, Jon Fratelli is starting a solo career with his debut album Psycho Jukebox. Fittingly the music video for the first single “Santo Domingo” features Jon strolling down a road as one-man band. It’s a fun light-hearted song with a country feel, each verse ending with twangy shout (twangy even for Jon).

“Rhythm Doesn’t Make You a Dancer” on the other hand has a much fuller sound and is more representative of his work.

Jon recorded so much material that he released a free EP, The Magic Hour, and if it’s any indication Psycho Jukebox is gonna be insane.

“This is the best collection of songs I’ve written,” says Fratelli. “I think these songs will make sense to people who liked The Fratellis, but I try not to over-think things. It’s all part of the same thing to me, making music.”

Lots of stores sell holiday albums, but Target actually made their own! The store chain commissioned 14 original Christmas songs. But these aren’t some short 30 second jingles made just for TV spots. The Christmas Gig 2010 album features full-length songs complete with their own music videos. Granted they’re just static shots of a red record playing on a turntable, but it beats the yule log.

Undoubtedly, you’ve  already seen the spots with kids breakdancing & unwrapping presents in reverse, which feature the catchy “Electronic Santa” by Blazer Force and “Toy Jackpot” a very cool old school rap by Blackalicious, respectively. But the non-English songs are only airing in their respective markets like the Pinker Tones rocking “Super Mama” a Spanish serenade to Moms who selflessly cook, decorate, and still somehow manage to spread Christmas cheer. And inexplicably other songs have no TV spots at all, like Little Isidore‘s soulful “Party Hard” which is a shame since it’s an instant classic.

Jackass 3D has broken all kinds of  records, not just for the biggest October opening, but also for being the first movie I’ve seen in the theater since Deep Blue Sea (1999) and the first 3D movie that didn’t need red and blue glasses. If ever there was a movie made for 3D, it’s Jackass.

However, there’s a great introduction by the original jackasses, Beavis and Butthead, that masterfully lowers expectations. Butthead demonstrates 3D technology by punching Beavis in the face but he’s not the only one that gets tricked.

Scenes like Johnny Knoxville jet skiing toward the camera should look amazing, but instead the camera quickly cuts to a shot from behind and all we see is Knoxville vanish behind some bushes. Other than the titles, the only notable 3D is the handful of CG (read: fake) bees during Beehive Tetherball.

While the 3D fell flat, the slow motion was outstanding. It beautifully captured each and every painful moment. Every time someone gets hit in the face, which is a lot, you can see the impact ripple across their face. Slow motion is a double-edge sword though, as it extends some very uncomfortable scenes for the audience.

Dickhouse

The production company certainly lived up to its name. In one of many phallic pranks, Bam sneaks up on people and pisses on them. The scary thing is that it’s shot from 1st penis perspective like some kind of perverted Halloween homage. Later, the guys play some stickball. Unfortunately, they were forgot their equipment so they improvise and use Pontius’ dick as a bat and Bam’s mouth as the catcher’s mitt. Despite being in slow motion, the black censor bar that conceals Pontius Jr is comically unable to keep up and we witness Party Boy in all his glory.

What should have been censored is the feces, which was literally everywhere. Steve-O gets bathed in it when he goes bungee jumping in a port-a-potty! But quantity isn’t everything. Dave England sets a new high for potty humor when he paints his ass like a volcano and erupts. And just when you think it’s over… instant replay!

It’s not all obscene though. After all, they needed material for the trailer. Most of the skits are boring, with the exception of a midget bar fight that even your mom would enjoy.

But the staple of the show has always been dangerously stupid stunts and Jackass 3D delivers with Electric Avenue, where prisoners try to gain their freedom by crossing an obstacle course consisting of 15 stun guns (950,000 volts each) plus 4 cattle prods. You can literally see the fear in their eyes, and if they’re scared your scared. Afterwards Bam said, “I changed my mind. Stun guns are the number one most thing that I hate now. Bulls are second. Snakes are third.” Naturally, Knoxville decided to test that by trapping him in a snake pit, where he bawled like a baby.

There’s explosive ending where everything (and I mean everything) blows up. Some of it’s obviously fake but that doesn’t make it any less impressive.

Farewell

Director Jeff Tremaine says this is the last Jackass movie, maybe. “We truly made it as if it’s the end but we also made the other two movies as if those were the last, so it’s getting pretty repetitious to be here three years after the last time, you know,” said Tremaine.

The credits seem to support this. An emotional remix of Weezer’s “Memories” (Featuring The Cast Of Jackass) accompanies old footage and endearing family photos from before they were jackasses. Knoxville and his cohorts bellow out the chorus, which just makes you want to join in with them. It makes the original version sound empty and whiny in comparison. In one of the last clips, Wee Man is asked if it’s over to which he responds, “Yeah, what did you want out of it? You got whatever, you know.” Although he’s referring to a stunt, it’s extremely poignant. I never thought I’d get misty-eyed over some guys who hit each other in the crotch.

Don’t worry though, just like the previous movie there was plenty of unused footage, which will be used for a direct-to-DVD sequel: Jackass 3.5.

I kissed a grouch?

Katy Perry has cleaned up the lyrics of her single “Hot N Cold” to sing a duet with Elmo but it seems the G-rated version was still too hot for Sesame Street, or at least moms, who complained Perry showed too much cleavage.

Sesame Workshop has pulled the segment saying, “In light of the feedback we’ve received on the Katy Perry music video which was released on YouTube only, we have decided we will not air the segment on the television broadcast of ‘Sesame Street,’ which is aimed at preschoolers.” (who always have their minds in the gutter)

Today Experian officially announced the new website will have a new spokesband: Victorious Secrets, whose commercials will premiere on Sept 12 during the MTV Music Awards.

The freecreditreport.com “band” aren’t the only ones being replaced, so is the grimacing old lady who was a recurring character in the infamous commercials. Now we may never know her story. Was she the singer’s mom, disappointed that he allowed his credit to fall into such shambles? Was she an identity thief who was angry about this fabulous “free” service. Or was she just a very old groupie?

Freecreditreport.com Old Lady (Update) is a post from: L7 World

When I first saw this Pepcid Complete commercial parodying a fast food restaurant, I immediately scoured the internet to find out who was the adorable actress playing Debra the cashier. Everything about her exudes cuteness: her eyes, her voice, even the little gap between her teeth.

Unfortunately, all I found was a lot of other people desperately searching for her as well. Eventually the commercial stopped airing and I stopped searching. But after recently seeing the commercial again, I gave it another go and found it had been upload on Youtube along with a name to the face. “Debra” is actual Shea Prueger, a professional model and you know what that means – lots more Shea to look at!

UPDATE:
Uncovered a new music video by Aussie punk rockers The Death Set, which features Shea dancing naked while covered in milk… at least I hope that’s milk. (video bottom)
