fireworksThe skies will be a little darker this 4th of July. From coast to coast, cities are cancelling celebrations to save money.

Gas prices aren’t the only thing going up. Fireworks will cost 20% more this year thanks to a warehouse explosion in China earlier this year that affected supply.

But is cancelling the 4th of July really the answer? Think about it, when you’re hurting financially do you cancel Christmas? Of course not. You economize, you cut back, but you don’t tell your kids ‘sorry Santa’s tapped out.’ And saying Uncle Sam’s tapped out sends an even worse message cause he’s real! How ’bout instead of these city officials giving themselves raises or just generally wasting our money they put the country first for once.
