The People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) received a lot of criticism for dressing up like KKK members to protest the Westminster Kennel Club Dog Show earlier this week.
PETA claims that the American Kennel Club (AKC) is “all about the sanctity of pure bloodlines” and “promotes genetic manipulation to create a master pedigree.”
“Obviously it’s an uncomfortable comparison,” admits PETA spokesman Michael McGraw. But he also insists, “It’s a very apt comparison.”
I couldn’t agree more. “German” shepherds were the attack dogs for the Nazis. And don’t gimme that that following order bunk.
Even cartoons are not immune to these stormpoopers.
Multicultural dogs like Disney’s Balto & Tramp are referred to by racial epithets like “Mutt” or called inferior by these racist purebreds. It’s not even subtle. Great Danes (another German dog) like Scrappy-Doo proudly proclaim “puppy power!” And just look at this screencap from the Scooby-Doo movie of Scrappy making a swastika (picture above).
Thanks PETA, it’s about time someone put a leash on this growing threat.
