Lorne Michaels has reportedly invited Mitt Romney to appear on Saturday Night Live. Romney says it’s news to him but that he’s open to the possibility.

“I haven’t made a decision on that, just heard about it,” he told Diane Sawyer. “Of course it would depend on the nature of the skit. I want it to be funny.”

Romney’s sense of humor is open to self-deprecation. He says that he’s a fan SNL’s Jason Sudeikis, who makes Romney look good in comparison. “He’s very good, Jason’s very good,” Romney said.

Romney has already poked fun of himself on The Late Show with David Letterman with a Top Ten List of “Things you don’t know about Mitt Romney.”

There’s only one more episode of SNL this season so if Romney does accept the offer, he wouldn’t appear until at least September.

3 MUST SEE SKITS:

  1. Romney as the Terminator. He goes back in time to kill the health care bill, but just like in the movies he switches sides (read: flip flops) and protects the bill.
  2. Romney’s dog relieves itself on top of the car roof. It progressively gets worse and seeps in the windows and onto his family.
  3. Romney as a wild and crazy guy. ’nuff said
