Old Navy reunites the cast of the National Lampoon’s Vacation film series in five Christmas-themed commercials. Chevy Chase and Beverly D’Angelo reprise their roles as Clark and Ellen Griswold but their children, Audrey and Rusty, have been played by multiple actors over the years. They poke fun at this by including several of them in the same commercial, including Dana Barron and Anthony Michael Hall from National Lampoon’s Vacation, Jason Lively from National Lampoon’s European Vacation and Juliette Lewis (but no Johnny Galecki) from National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. One theory is that Galecki thought he was too big a star to bang out the commercial but there’s still time for a Christmas miracle. We’ll find out later this week when the final two TV spots air. Then again, we could see an appearance by Ed Helms, who will play Rusty in the upcoming film Vacation.
UPDATE:
The 4th and penultimate TV spot has been released. It features a cameo by Cousin Eddie, or at least his RV.
