Like past seasons, American Horror Story: Coven recasts actors and actresses in new roles but Jessica Lange is still a witch, literally this time. Lange plays Supreme witch Fiona Goode. She and her daughter Cordelia (Sarah Paulson) run the Miss Robichaux’s Academy for Exceptional Young Ladies. Taissa Farmiga plays Zoe a newly enrolled student. Once again her character falls for Evan Peters as Kyle, who hopefully won’t rape her mother this time.
“This is going to be the most friendly place for women on television this year,” Executive Producer Tim Minear told Eonline. “Friendly, until we do the things we do.”
FX has two new trailers: “Burn” and “WitchWalk” as well as an extended cut of “Initiation” that show the extremely fashionable schoolgirl witches touring New Orleans. Fiona assures her students that they have nothing to fear but her. Well her and the mysterious witch hunters!
In addition to witches, there are also two historically based characters: the serial killer Delphine LaLaurie (Kathy Bates) and Voodoo priestess Marie Laveau (Angela Bassett).
The trailers feature a very creepy cover of “House of the Rising Sun” by Lauren O’Connell.
