Michael Keaton will resurrect his role as the afterlife’s leading bio-exorcist, Betelgeuse (pronounced Beetlejuice, just don’t say it 3 times).
“That’s what they’re telling me,” Keaton told TMZ.
Writer Seth Grahame-Smith (Abraham Lincoln Vampire Hunter) insisted that the role not be recast. Beetlejuice 2 will reportedly be a true sequel set decades later, which should be just enough time for the troublemaker to finally see his afterlife caseworker.
When we last saw Betelgeuse, he was sitting in a waiting room looking at a ticket that read 9,998,383,750,000. I wouldn’t be surprised if the sequel opens with a secretary saying, “Next!”
