Life-size Chocolate Santa on display at Houston Hotel

Santa’s skin color has been a sticky situation for Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly, who took issue with having a black Santa. But we can all agree that when it comes to a chocolate Santa, the darker the better.

A life-size chocolate Santa is the centerpiece of a Christmas display at the Hilton Americas in downtown Houston. With the exception of a gingerbread fireplace, the entire display is made of chocolate, right of down to the floor.

It took chef Mahesh Weerasinghe and his staff 400 man-hours to sculpt the 1,000 pounds of chocolate, which adds up to 2.5 million calories but don’t worry about packing on the holiday pounds. The inedible chocolate is covered in lacquer to preserve it for future showings.

“We are going to add on to each it year,” a spokeswoman told the Houston Chronicle. “Next year it will be even larger.”

The Christmas display ends December 30th.
