The nearly 3 minute long Amazing Spider-Man 2 trailer is full of Easter eggs from Spider-Man’s rogues gallery. Spider-Man (Andrew Garfield) goes up against Harry Osborn AKA Green Goblin (Dane DeHaan), Max Dillon AKA Electro (Jamie Foxx) and Aleksei Sytsevich AKA Rhino (Paul Giamatti). The trailer also features the unattached wings and arms of the Vulture and Doctor Octopus, respectively.
FANBOY SENSES TINGLING
Fans are speculating a possible appearance by the Sinister Six but could it actually be the Sinister Seven? In a particularly ominous scene, seven cells are shown, though only six appear to open. It wouldn’t be the first time the team has expanded its ranks.
It’s also possible that the person behind door #7 will switch sides and team up with Spider-Man, who is outnumbered and outgunned.
“It’s just a matter of time until I face those with more power than I can overcome,” he surmises.
A brief glimpse at the OsCorp computer interface suggests three possible allies: Dr. Connors AKA the Lizard, Dr. Morbius AKA the Living Vampire and Venom, the alien symbiote that was originally bonded to Spider-Man. There’s also an entry for the Ravencroft Institute for the Criminally Insane headed by Doctor Kafka (Marton Csokas), who has already been confirmed for the movie.
More clues can be found at The Daily Bugle newspaper on Tumblr, which reports that a bank robber shook off a vault door. That sounds a lot like the Shocker, who uses gauntlets that vibrate the air into powerful blasts. The latest post reports that the “world-renowned nuclear researcher Otto Octavius” is rumored to be contributor for OsCorp.
