Actor Dean Cain may be the host of 10 Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty but contestant Justin Smeja is definitely the star of the show. Justin claims to have killed Bigfoot… twice! While bear hunting, he shot Bigfoot dead but lost track of it while chasing down a baby Bigfoot that he choked to death.
Blood and hair samples from the creature came back “feral human” according to Justin.
“There’s no such thing as feral human,” explains Dr. Todd Disotell, who serves as a judge on the show. “Feral is just a behavior so if Justin killed a feral human, he actually killed a human and he’s committed murder.”
Justin didn’t attempt to justify his actions. After an awkward silence, the Bigfoot hunter simply said he shot it because it was a monster. He reportedly passed a polygraph test but then again, he’s a professional bullshitter, literally.
On their first mission to track Bigfoot, Justin eats cow shit to mask his scent.
He explains that “80% of your body’s odor is in your breath so if you gotta put some shit in your mouth that’s what gotta do.”
When Justin finds eaten acorns inside a cave, he estimates a 70% – 80% chance that it’s a Bigfoot den but he and his partner don’t stick around to find out, which gets them chided by the host. Their story may be thin on evidence but it’s better than nothing. Rival team, Travis and January Miller, are voted off the show for coming back empty handed.
“We were the only team that didn’t try to make up some crazy story about what we found,” said Travis. “We hope that Justin an Ro don’t win anything.”
10 Million Dollar Bigfoot Bounty airs Fridays at 10 p.m. ET on Spike.
