The Simpsons S25E10 - Married to the Blob Hayao Miyazaki tribute scene (Kwik-E-Mart and Howl's Moving Castle)
Hayao Miyazaki, known as the Japanese Walt Disney, is honored on this week’s Simpsons episode “Married to the Blob.”

Comic Book Guy develops a crush on a mangaka (Japanese comic book artist), which leads to Homer playing wingman in little Tokyo. Homer drinks a little too much sake and hallucinates Springfield and it citizens and various characters from Miyazaki films such My Neighbor Totoro (Otto as Catbus), Kiki’s Delivery Service (Patty and Selma as the witch), Spirited Away (School bullies Jimbo, Kearney and Dolph as Haku), Princess Mononoke (Krusty as Jigo), Ponyo (Ralph Wiggum as Ponyo) and Howl’s Moving Castle (Kwik-E-Mart as the castle).

“I’m ruined by whimsy,” Apu complains as items literally fly off the shelves of his moving store.

Miyazaki retired in 2013 with release of The Wind Rises.
