Late Night with Jimmy Fallon last show (Muppets band)

Jimmy Fallon reminisced last night as he hosted Late Night for the last time..

“Tonight is the 969th and final episode of Late Night,” Fallon pointed out. “Or as my dad put it, “Couldn’t make it to a thousand, huh? Quitter.'”

All told, there have been move than 10,000 monologues jokes, which he eloquently summed up.

“Joe Biden needed Obamcare after Anthony Weiner texted Justin Bieber a picture of Chris Christie dating a Kardashian on the Jersey Shore,” he summarized.

Fallon continued to list off other stats which got immediately updated by a quantity of one such as announcer Steve Higgins making inappropriate jokes, which now stands at a very sexy 769.

Late Night with Jimmy Fallon finale (Mets Bucket hat guy walks out)

The last stat was in reference to the recurring character ‘Mets Bucket hat guy,’ who angrily walks out whenever Fallon bests him at a convoluted version of six degrees of separation.

He once again angrily walked out. This time because he no more shows to walk out on.

“This is all I had going for me, man” he groaned but given that the show is just moving down the hall, he should be able to make a connection.

Fallon closed out the show with a performance by the Muppets band playing a cover of “The Weight” by The Band. The host sung and provided backup for Animal on drums. When they were finished, Fallon walked down the hall to the new studio where he will host the Tonight Show. It will be the first time the show has been hosted in New York in 42 years, which has been parodied with Saturday Night Fever themed promo.

The Tonight Show starring Jimmy Fallon premieres Monday 11:35 p.m. February 17.
