Kevin Conroy and Will Friedle reprise their roles as an elderly Bruce Wayne and his apprentice Terry McGinnis in a Batman Beyond short by Darwyn Cooke.
The Batcave is infiltrated by a younger version of the superhero circa the 90s TV series Batman: The Animated Series. We all know the original Batman would mop the floor with McGinnis. Fortunately, it’s just a robot Batman and no match for the real thing. Bruce turns on the Batmobile and flames shoot out the back melting the imposter like the Terminator.
It ends on a cliffhanger that reveals seven more robot Batmen: the original version of Batman by creator Bob Kane, Batman ’66 the comic book adaptation of the live-action Batman TV series starring Adam West, Tim Burton’s Batman starring Michael Keaton, the film adaptation of Frank Miller’s The Dark Knight Returns, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, The Batman, and Beware the Batman.
The Batman Beyond short and another short by Bruce Timm called Strange Days were created to celebrate 75th anniversary of Batman. Both are airing as part Cartoon Network’s DC Nation Shorts (Wednesday nights at 6:30 p.m.).
