Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s new Texas BBQ Thickburger commercial is mouthwatering but it’s not the burger that has us drooling. It’s Sports Illustrated model Hannah Ferguson, who was named “Rookie of the Year.” Ferguson recreates the 2005 ad “I Love Paris” featuring Paris Hilton in a sexy car wash.
“It was one of the iconic ads of the decade,” says Andy Puzder, CEO of CKE Restaurants parent company of the Carl’s Jr. and Hardee’s.
It was literally too hot for the internet. The video got 350 million hits and crashed the company’s website. The new sexy ad campaign single-handedly turned around a sales slump.
Texas native Ferguson stars in “I love Texas,” which plays on the slogan everything’s bigger in Texas. The meatier model washes a big truck with the vanity license plate “Texas Grl.” The beefy burger overflows onto the hood.
“You missed a spot,” says Hilton, who makes a cameo to pick Ferguson’s scraps.
