Travel back in time and watch Doctor Who from the beginning. Retro TV will air Classic Doctor Who episodes back-to-back weeknights at 8 p.m. and a 2-hour encore showing Saturday at 6 p.m.
Doctor Who holds the distinction of being the longest-running science fiction television series. The First Doctor (William Hartnell) debuted in “An Unearthly Child” which premiered in 1963. The show has cheated death by having the Doctor regenerate into new bodies portrayed by different actors. The episodes will be aired in order through the first seven incarnations of the Doctor: William Hartnell, Patrick Troughton, Jon Pertwee, Tom Baker, Peter Davison, Colin Baker, and Sylvester McCoy.
There will be minimal edits of no more than 60 second cuts affecting a very limited amount of episodes, which originally aired without commercial breaks! How’s that for a time warp?
Classic Doctor Who premieres Monday 8 p.m. August 4 on Retro TV.
