Family Guy Simpsons crossover preview car wash The Simpsons Guy Bart

The Griffins move in with the Simpsons in the Family Guy season premiere “The Simpsons Guy.”
The hour-long special has a proportional amount of clips promoting the epic event. One clip shows even more cameos by the Animation Domination line-up including Bob’s Burgers and The Cleveland Show. Now if we can just get some American Dad, which was cancelled by Fox.

When an unidentified thief drives off with the Griffins’ car, the family wanders into Springfield cue the Simpsons theme song, which is abbreviated to just the opening scene. However, given magnitude of this episode it’s not unrealizable to expect a modified Family Guy opening, perhaps even a Family Guy couch gag?

Don’t expect the Griffins to stick around. They insist their visit to Springfield is a one-time event and they are eager to leave the town and its peculiar people.

“Don’t drink the water,” Peter (Seth MacFarlane) warns his family. “Everyone around here looks like they have hepatitis.”

It’ll be interesting to see if they make references to other idiosyncrasies regarding the animation style such as the lack of a hairline for Bart and Lisa. And vice versa. In fact, the Simpsons do acknowledge the talking baby where as Brian is treated a dog!

Peter tries to report the crime to the police but Chief Wiggum (Hank Azaria) presumably isn’t much help because he has to take matters into his own hands. Fortunately, his new BFF Homer (Dan Castellaneta) is dumb enough to go along with his schemes.

Simpsons fans are in for a shock if they think the nuclear family will rub off on the Griffins, though there will be a lot of rubbing. Homer and Peter grind on each other in a sexy car wash to lure the thief. The men literally top themselves when they pump their rears full of gas in order to think like a car. A seedy adult video store sells their sex act on a DVD titled Gassensexen. Simpsons creator Matt Groening seems to have give Seth MacFarlane free rein for better or worse.

Family Guy season 13 premieres Sunday at 9PM on Fox.
