Injustice Gods Among Us Year Three 11 Batman Etrigan the Demon Yellow Lantern Superman

Batman deduces he is subject of the second part of the prophecy: “The emperor sleeps.” John Constantine slyly suggests the only one who can go toe-to-toe with Superman is Etrigan the Demon but he’s trapped in Hell. The Spectre, the Spirit of Vengeance, killed the demon’s human host, Jason Blood. Constantine says he would offer himself up but doesn’t trust the Demon with his magic. Batman replies that he’s willing sacrifice himself. The issue ends with Superman being attacked by Etrigan, presumably in possession of Batman. It’s a match made in Heaven, figuratively speaking. Superman broke Batman’s back so he’s still to weak to face him directly. Furthermore, Superman is weak against magic and the supernatural, giving him an edge.

Meanwhile, the Phantom Stranger AKA Judas confronts the Spectre about choosing to side with Superman in the superhero spat. He teleports him to Saturn to remind the spirit of his heavenly master. The Stranger realizes something evil is inside of Spectre, who reveals his true face before dispatching him.

Deadman AKA Boston Brand faced a similar fate when he demanded to speak to the spirit’s human host, Jim Corrigan. The Spectre killed Deadman once he realized Corrigan was gone.
