Lego Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles “Clash of the Skywalkers” ended with the apparent death of Luke Skywalker but Disney XD will air an alternate ending this Sunday.
The episode opens with Admiral Ackbar setting a trap appropriately named “Operation fool Vader into thinking he destroyed Luke.” Unfortunately, Luke leads the Empire straight to them when he accidentally activates a holocron storage device. It contains footage from the battle between Count Dooku and Anakin Skywalker, who distracts his opponent so that Yoda and Obi Wan can escape and help their allies. It inspires Luke to follow his example and buy time for the rebels to escape.
Luke and R2-D2 face off again Darth Vader and a black R2-D2 in a space battle and crash land onto an asteroid. Vader uses the force to push them down a crater then throw rocks at them. Luke dares him to throw more rocks in order enrage a Exogorth but he discovers the space worm is actually Vader’s pet. It devours Luke and R2-D2 then spits them out into space.
The alternate ending will likely start from this scene, which is featured in the promo. Perhaps the creature will turn on its master instead or maybe even eat both of them.
The episode originally ends with the Empire throwing a victory party to celebrate the defeat of Luke Skywalker. The Emperor leads a conga line with Darth Vader, who is a little too close for comfort.
“Get your hands off… my shoulders. I don’t know you… that well,” the Emperor sings in beat with the music.
The demise of Vader surely wouldn’t dampen the mood of the Emperor. In fact, he’d probably add a few anti-Vader balloons at the party.
