Rick and Morty season 2 trailer features Weird Science

Rick and Morty season 2 will have even more sci-fi shenanigans as seen in the trailer, which is aptly set to Oingo Boingo’s Weird Science. Morty’s parents, Beth and Jerry, will start having their own adventures explained creator Dan Harmon in an interview with Nerd Repository.

“We’ve sort of freed ourself up to be sci-fi across the whole episode,” co-creator Justin Roiland added.

Even Morty’s sister, Summer, seems to be horning in on his action. She threatens to become their grandfather’s new sidekick. It appears she already is his stooge sidekick in an alternate timeline, a popular trope on the show.

In the season finale, Bird Person reveals that Rick’s catchphrase “wubba lubba dub dub” actually means “I am in great pain. Please help me.” Furthermore, his alcoholism is a method of self medication. Rick is still his sporting throw up around his mouth in the new season but he’s trying out new catchphrases as revealed in an animatic debuted at New York Comic-Con 2014.

Rick and Morty season 2 premieres July 26, Sunday 11:30PM on Adult Swim.
