Saturday Night Live introduces Lucas Sinclair’s parents in a Stranger Things parody. Lucas (Sasheer Zamata) helps Mike (Kyle Mooney) and Dustin (Lin-Manuel Miranda) look for their friend Will, who has been taken to an Upside Down dimension by a monster named the Demogorgon. Mr. and Mrs. Sinclair (Leslie Jones and Kenan Thompson) point out that blacks already live in a scary world with monsters. They panic at the sight of a white cop, Chief Jim Hopper (Beck Bennett). The couple is eager to get away from the crazy white people including the creepy girl, Eleven (Kate McKinnon), and Will’s mother, Joyce (Melissa Villaseñor), whose lights are on but no one’s home. Perhaps this is exactly why Lucas’ parents were omitted. They would have had too much common sense and avoided getting into danger in the first place.
Stranger Things season 2
The series will delve deeper into the characters promises co-creator Matt Duffer.
“Season One actually takes place over the course of six or seven days – it’s a really short period of time,” Duffer told IGN. “So part of what we want to do with hypothetical Season 2 is to explore the repercussions of everything that happened.”
One of those repercussions will undoubtedly be Lucas getting his upside down beat for wandering the woods for days during an apparent child abduction.
Tonight Show host Jimmy Fallon explored similar plot holes like the disappearance of Barb, which seemed to go virtually unnoticed by the town.
