Simpsons couch gag Reservoir Dogs claymation
Simponsized Reservoir Dogs: Krusty as Mr. Blonde (Michael Madsen), alien as Mr. Pink (Steve Buscemi), pig (Chief Wiggum) as Mr. Orange (Tim Roth) and rabbit (Snake Jailbird) as a combination of Mr. White (Harvey Keitel) and Mr. Brown (Quentin Tarantin).

Reservoir Dogs is a bank robbery movie that never actually shows the robbery due to director Quentin Tarantino’s non-linear storytelling. The robbery scene is finally revealed in a Simpsons couch gag by animator Lee Hardcastle, who takes some artistic liberties with the scene. The parody is faithful to the essence of the characters and their deaths but none of the characters actually died during the diamond heist.

Claymation robbers want dough

Rather than aliases based on colors, the bank robbers conceal their identities with Simpsons inspired masks: Krusty, a pig, an alien and a rabbit, who hits Principal Seymour Skinner in the nose with the butt of his gun.

“If you get customer or an employee who thinks he’s Charles Bronson, take the butt of your gun and smash their nose in,” Mr. White (Harvey Keitel) explains in the film.

Krusty gets trigger happy à la Mr. Blonde (Michael Madsen) when Moleman pulls the alarm. Milhouse’s dad, Kirk, fights back and gets his nose blow off by rabbit. Mrs. Powell attempts to flee but is shot in the back by Krusty. He is killed in retaliation by pig who is consequently shot in the stomach and revealed to be Police Chief Wiggum.

Mr. Orange (Tim Roth) was also revealed to be an undercover cop, who similarly killed Mr. Blonde to protect a kidnapped cop. However, Mr. Orange’s fatal wound was inflicted while carjacking an armed woman, whom he subsequently shot in self-defense.

Wiggum likewise kills a civilian. He accidentally kills Kirk while aiming for the alien, who escapes with the diamonds just as Mr. Pink (Steve Buscemi) appear to. In fact, Mr. Pink is heard being arrested off screen just before the police storm the hideout in final scene of Reservoir Dogs (video below).

A clerk shoots Rabbit in the head knocking off his mask and revealing him as Springfield’s resident crook, Snake Jailbird. He survives the wound which replicates the one received by Mr. Brown (Quentin Tarantin). Rabbit then crawls to Wiggum and struggles with the decision to kill him for his betrayal recreating Mr. White’s reluctance to kill Mr. Orange, whom he had taken under his wing. The two of them are killed as officers Lou and Eddie storm the building. The only survivor is the Crazy Cat Lady, who is left CATatonic.

In contrast, the alien does get away scot-free and holds up at the Simpsons’ couch, which is covered in chalk outlines of Bart, Lisa, Maggie and Grampa Simpson. The implication is that Homer and Marge have finally had enough and killed their family.

The identities of Krusty and the alien are never revealed true to the film. The mob boss instructed the crew to use their assigned aliases so that they could not rat on each other if caught. Only Mr. White breaks this rule when he tells his name to the dying Mr. Orange, who then reveals his he is a cop.
