Big Bang Theory‘s Johnny Galecki goes from scientist to prankologist in his latest role as host of SciJinks, a prank show airing on Science Channel. Galecki and his cohosts, engineer Tamara Robertson (Mythbusters) and magician Jason Latimer (Wizard Wars), recruit unsuspecting lab partners to participate in experiments that go awry.
“I am humbled and excited to work closely on this show with some of the scientists and STEM students I’ve had the pleasure of meeting over the past decade,” said Galecki. “It’s a great opportunity to put these amazing folks in the spotlight, erase some of the stereotypes of people in the sciences and it’s resulted in a show that is a whole lot of fun.”
Galecki also serves as executive producer on SciJinks, which is being filmed by his company Alcide Bava Productions (Living Biblically) and A. Smith & Co. Productions (American Ninja Warrior). The eight episode long series premieres May 16, Wednesday 10PM.
“SciJinks, the smartest prank show on television, is a fun series with both humor and practical science,” said Rich Ross, Group President, Discovery Channel and Science Channel. “There is no one better to host and produce this than Johnny Galecki.”
