Emily Ratajkowski sees some actual blurred lines in the tastefully censored video for her topless photo shoot in the July issue of GQ magazine.
The model wears nothing but flesh colored bikini bottoms and a Hawaiian lei that can’t quite cover her breasts. For the rest of the shoot her dirty parts are hidden under wet sand clinging to every inch of her body. Tropical location notwithstanding, the accompanying interview isn’t so hot. Ratajkowski says she isn’t a fan of all the attention Robin Thicke’s music video has garnered.
“I didn’t want to do it at first, but I talked to the director and I understood what it was,” she told GQ. “I do like it. But if there’s one thing I’d request, it’s for people who see me out to not be, like, You’re the hottest bitch in this place. When it comes on in a bar, I run into the bathroom and hide.”
The supermodel says she aspires for her photos to show a real person like Kate Moss, whose claim to fame is ironically being unrealistically skinny. Ratajkowski goes on to say that even when she’s hungover women compliment her on how beautiful she is.
It’s not wonder women hate her, which is exactly why Director David Fincher cast Ratajkowski for his upcoming film Gone Girl. Fincher says he wanted someone divisive among men and women and the Blurred Lines girl was his first choice. Ratajkowski plays Andie Hardy, the love interest of a man (Ben Affleck) suspected of murdering his wife. Affleck’s character describes her as “an alien fuck-doll of a girl… as different from my elegant, patrician wife as could be.”
Despite landing her the role, Ratajkowski downplays her non-speaking part in the music video.
“Hopefully, at a certain point, people will be coming up to me and saying, ‘I really like your acting.’ Or better, ‘I like whatever you had to say.'”
