The BBC has released a second trailer for the Doctor Who 50th anniversary special “The Day of the Doctor” that shows a friendly rivalry between David Tennant and Matt Smith, at least on-screen.

“We’re not competitive, I mean there’s a funny bit in the script between the 10th and 11th Doctors comparing Sonics, so there’s competitiveness in the story, but not off screen,” Smith told the BBC.
When the Doctors compare Sonic Screwdrivers they appear to be evenly matched until the Eleventh Doctor reveals he’s a grower not a shower. The Tenth Doctor displays a clear case of Sonic envy upon seeing the tool extend. He lashes out by criticizing the new TARDIS.
“Oh, you’ve redecorated,” the Tenth Doctor comments. “I don’t like it.”
There’s even a juxtaposition of their catchphrases “allons-y” and “geronimo.”
