Dawn of the Planet of the Apes is set a decade after the outbreak of the Simian Flu, which has created super evolved apes but also decimated the human population. The world has spent half that time fighting the virus and another half fighting each other. The survivors are rallied by Dreyfus (Gary Oldman), who wants to reclaim the world from the apes. Malcolm (Jason Clarke) seeks out Caesar (Andy Serkis) to avoid a war but conflict seems inevitable. The trailer ends with a foreboding scene, in which Caesar signals his ape army to advance on the humans.
