Disney animated movies have received live-action remakes that are decidedly darker than the originals. In turn, Saturday Night Live recasts Bambi with The Fast and the Furious stars: Dwayne Johnson as Bambi, Vin Diesel (Taran Killam) as Thumper, Tyrese Gibson (Jay Pharoah) as Flower and Michelle Rodriguez (Cecily Strong) as Faline AKA Girl Bambi. Killam does a Vin Diesel impression that is virtually unintelligible, which is to say that it’s spot on. His mumbles only worsen until he simply drools.
The gun-toting animals hunt the hunters (Bobby Moynihan & Kyle Mooney) who killed Bambi’s mother.
“When I was a boy they took away my mother. Now it’s time for them to pay… dearly,” the deer quips.
